10 Disney-related things to do besides visiting Disney Parks right now
In this challenging and sometimes distressing time, we’d love nothing more than to visit a Disney Park and be surrounded by all the magic, love, and light that encapsulates them. But during a global pandemic? Sorry, loves, but we’d rather stay safe at home!
We know how much y’all miss Disney (maybe even more so than us, but who’s to say), so we compiled a list of activities to do instead of visiting the parks you can do right now!
1. Stream Disney+
Okay, I think everyone is already doing this one, but I still had to include it on the list! Whether you’re re-watching Disney classics like Cinderella, Toy Story, or Star Wars films; or streaming new original content such as Muppets Now, Black is King, or The Imagineering Story, they are all available to get your daily dose of Disney! Bonus: you get to wear comfy pajamas and have unlimited access to your snack pantry. It’s a win-win, really. Here's a list of female-fronted features to get your Disney+ marathon started!

2. Make sourdough Mickey bread
If you’re one of the few who haven’t already made sourdough bread during quarantine, or simply want to up your game a notch, now’s your chance to add a bit of pixie dust to your recipe! We mean, of course, make the bread Mickey-shaped, just like the ones sold at Disney California Adventure park (please don’t disturb the fairies and add real pixie dust.) This fun twist not only tastes good, but it’s very Insta-worthy! If you do decide to make sourdough Mickey bread, tag us! We want to see your masterpieces! Here’s a super informative step-by-step guide for making sourdough bread.

3. Do an at-home photo shoot with your favorite Minnie ears
What better way to show off your favorite or newest pair of Minnie ears than through an at-home photo shoot? It’s time to glam it up with your best outfit, makeup, and shoes! The best part is, you can add your own props and change your decor to suit what look you’re going for. Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars from grocery stores, Disney plushies, flowers, bubble wands, and that lovely Mickey sourdough loaf you just baked are all great prop examples!

4. Support small shops
Can we talk about how cute, creative, and innovative some of these small Disney-inspired shops are? We’ve seen custom-made Minnie ears, shirts, stickers, bows, and sooo much more! We love supporting small creators and building up their businesses. Plus, we can help save the USPS in the process! Many small shops rely on the USPS to ship their items nationwide and purchasing from these shops helps bring money to USPS! Extra bonus-- below is a list of Black-owned Disney small shops and Disney content creators! Please consider shopping and sharing their shops.

5. Re-create a Disney Parks food recipe
Disney Parks Blog has been churning out dozens of food recipes of our favorites from the parks, including Carnation Café’s fried pickles, grey stuff, and of course, the fan-favorite Dole Whip! We love being able to enjoy tasty Disney snacks while in the safe comfort of our homes! Plus, playing a Disney+ classic in the background would definitely bring the nostalgia factor. Have you made any of these delicious treats yet?

6. Study to be an Imagineer
Disney has teamed up with Khan Academy to bring us Imagineering in a Box. The course is designed to allow users to explore what it means to be an Imagineer, what aspects are involved in designing a Disney theme park, and even gives users a chance to design their own theme park. You don’t even need to create an account with Khan Academy. Just click on the website link to begin lesson one!

7. Support Disney vloggers
While the Disney vlogging community can be divisive, to say the least, there are many positive vlogging channels out there! For many of these channels, vlogging is their full-time job. While many vloggers have gone to the parks for more content, some have safely stayed home to film their videos. Watching their old vlogs or supporting their new ones are both fun and a safe way to visit the parks, and a way to support vloggers who put safety above content. Our recommendation to start? 8. Watch ride-throughs or ambient vlogs
This tradition pre-dates quarantine times. Those of us who aren’t Annual Passholders, or simply don’t visit the parks too often, know what I’m referring to. There’s something magical and comforting about searching up a ride-through of your favorite Disney attraction, or listening to a music loop of your favorite land in the Magic Kingdom. It’s great to immerse yourself in the magic from the tranquility of your home or to play as background music as you work from home. Here’s a Disneyland Main Street, U.S.A. music loop to get you started!
9. Listen to music from the theme parks
On a similar note, another great way to incorporate Disney into quarantine is to listen to Disney music playlists! Spotify has a bunch of different playlists to suit your mood, but their Disney Hits playlist is a nice one to start with. Apple Music also has a ton of playlist options as well, including a Disney Essentials one.

10. Go for a walk and look for Hidden Mickeys
Walks are a great way to get some fresh air and sunshine, especially if you’ve been inside all day. To add an extra element of fun, we recommend looking for Hidden Mickeys. It’s a safe, free, and fun mindful exercise. See how many you can find and collect a collage of photos to share with friends!
